"After Rajinikanth, Suriya Is The Only Star To Achieve 100 Crores Collections": K.E. Gnanavel Raja

The press meet for Suriya's highly anticipated upcoming action film Si 3 was held yesterday in Chennai. The third film in the blockbuster Singam franchise directed by Hari has Suriya and Anushka Shetty reprising their roles from the previous films along with new casting additions Shruti Haasan playing an investigative journalist and Thakur Anoop Singh as the baddie and a musical score by Harris Jayaraj under K.E. Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green banner.

At press meet yesterday, producer Gnanavel Raja stated that the film has come out quite well. He also declared that Suriya was the only actor in the Tamil film industry after 'Superstar' Rajinikanth to have the second biggest market in terms of business. He stated confidently that the dubbed Telugu version of Si 3 will open big in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana as the actor has a massive fan following.

The producer also took the opportunity to apologize to fans for the delay of Singam 3 and cited multiple reasons that were beyond the production house's control. He stated that the sudden demise of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, the Vardah cyclone, demonitization's effects and the recent Jallikattu protests made the release process quite difficult. He reminded all those who attended yesterday's event that he believes February will bring him good luck since Studio Green hit it big ten years back when Paruthiveeran came out in the same month.

When Hari came on the dais, the director revealed that he and Suriya had plans to work on another script, but chose to do Si 3 for fans. He further added that the third film will blend in with the two previous films seamlessly.

When Suriya took to the stage, he declared that his mother liked Si 3 more than the other two films during a special screening for her. He stated that her words moved him a lot. The Thaanaa Serndha Koottam complimented the film's stunt choreographer Kanal Kannan calling his work as amazing. He also praised Harris Jayaraj saying this was his ninth film with the composer and his score in the film is fantastic.

Talking about the film, Suriya said that the unit wrapped up production in 120 days and admitted that it was possible since Hari works quick. The director would apparently complete close to 80 shots a day always keeping in mind the final output.

Dream Factory banner's Sakthivelan, who maintains a close rapport with Studio Green said that Singam 3 has a lot of potential to make it big as the film is racy and entertaining. He declared that the film has been snapped by buyers all over the world for Rs. 100 crores. He concluded confidently saying the film will make it into the 200 crore club.

We couldn't be more excited for the film all set to smash its way to screens on February 9.
