Madras High Court

The plea had sought to quash the provisional merit list of MBBS/BDS released on August 23 by the Secretary, Selection Committee and Directorate of Medical Education as it is found that the candidates whose nativity is not Tamil Nadu were given admission.

Members of around 40 educational institutions joined together to participate in a day-long protest against National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test meant for MBBS/BDS admissions at Valluvarkottam.

Prince Gajendra Babu, general secretary, State Platform for Common School System (SPCSS) said, “We want the examination to be exempted for the government colleges and government quota in private colleges. Secondly, for the PG graduates we want in-service quota. Thirdly, we want reservation for the Tamil Nadu seats in super speciality courses.”
