Police Arrest 19-Year-Old Over Manchester Attack

British police said they arrested a 19-year-old man late Sunday in connection with the Manchester bombing after a search at an address in the city's southeast.

The man's arrest in the Gorton area, "on suspicion of offences contrary to the terrorism act", brings the total in custody in Britain in connection with the attack to 13 men, Greater Manchester Police said in a statement.

A total of 11 people are in detention in Britain and Libya over Monday's suicide bombing on a pop concert in the northwestern English city of Manchester by a British-born man of Libyan origin.

A teenage boy and a woman arrested by British police this week have since been released without charge, leaving nine in custody on UK soil who were arrested "on suspicion of offences contrary to the terrorism act".

The arrest is the first outside the Manchester area.

British police arrested a seventh person Wednesday in connection with the massacre at a Manchester pop concert that left 22 people dead.

The arrest was made following searches at an address in the town of Nuneaton in central England, and is the first outside the Manchester area.
