A special group of investors from Vietnam are scheduled to arrive Srilanka today (9).

A discussion will be held between Sri Lanka and Vietnam investors tomorrow while Sri Lankan entrepreneurs will also be able to take part in the discussion.

Vietnam investor team will arrive in Sri Lanka to look into investment opportunities in the country, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce said.

Among the group are Vietnam’s top 24 investors. The Vietnamese investors will focus their attention on energy, machinery, water, cable, cement, housing, naval and auto products.

Cabinet meeting focuses on ways to handle water crisis

The water crisis prevailing in the State topped the agenda in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy on Tuesday at the Secretariat.

Steps to be taken to ensure the formation of the Cauvery Management Board – the issue which is now pending before the Supreme Court, were brought up before the cabinet, and deliberated. The Cabinet discussed in detail about the acute drinking water crisis across the state, and the action which needs to be taken to overcome the summer with the limited water resources.
