Hardik Pandya's unbeaten knock of 79 provided India some hope in a rain-hit opening day of the second four-day Quadrangular A Series match against Australia as India finished the day on 169/9.

India were put into bat first by the hosts but were soon undone as the top order collapsed and it took a fightback from the lower order to save the day to some extent. Pandya's unbeaten 79 came off 112 balls which had nine fours and a six. Jayant Yadav was the second highest contributor with the bat as he managed to get 28 runs off 69-balls.
