Last week, the Tamil Film Producers Council has placed 14 demands to be fulfilled by Tamil Nadu State and the Union Governments in order to save the dwindling fortunes of Tamil film producer. The list of demands included a range of issues from stricter measures to tackle piracy to increasing the ticket rates in Tamil Nadu theatres. The Council had also announced that these demands are not fulfilled, they will go on an indefinite strike from June 1, 2017.

20 Vehicle Pile-Up On Yamuna Expressway, Many Reportedly Injured

Many people are reportedly injured in a pile-up of more than 20 vehicles on the Yamuna expressway near Delhi because of dense fog on Thursday morning.

A thick brown haze has engulfed the capital and nearby areas over the past few days with pollution levels spiking to alarming levels.

Smoke from firecrackers burst on Diwali festival on the weekend has also clogged the area, reducing visibility.

The 165-km long Yamuna Expressway, which connects Noida near Delhi and Agra, has seen similar accidents in the past because of fog.


Diwali Celebrated At Neasden Temple In London

Hundreds of people celebrated Diwali at the famous BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir London in the UK, with Europe's largest Hindu temple serving over 1200 vegetarian dishes to the devotees on the holy occasion of festival of lights.

The temple, also known as Neasden Temple, in north London was decorated with dazzling displays of bright, intricate Indian patterns and flickering lamps.

Hundreds of worshipers and visitors arrived at the temple throughout the day yesterday and offered their prayers. In the evening, a special ceremony for home and business owners was held.


Vijay spotted with a mask in Chennai

As we had reported earlier, Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Keerthy Suresh were shooting a duet song for their upcoming film 'Bairavaa'. They even spent the Diwali festival long away from home at the shooting spot.

Now the makers seems to have completed the song shoot and the crew including Vijay have returned home. Yesterday Vijay has returned to Chennai. The much loved star was spotted in Chennai Airport at Meenambakkam. He was wearing a mask mas covering his mouth and nose to avoid being thronged by fans and onlookers which may lead to unnecessary commotion.

Ban on import and sale of Chinese crackers has had little or no effect on domestically-made ones as traders across major cities report poor business owing to anti-cracker campaign run by schools, resident welfare associations and others, Assocham said today.

It is not just Chinese crackers, but multiple factors like growing environmental awareness, rising cost of living, growing tendency to save hard-earned money, paucity of time and traffic congestions have dented the business over the years. This is what a majority of the 250 traders surveyed said.
