TTV Dinakaran

Speaking to reporters at the Jayalalithaa Memorial late on Monday, MLA Thangatamilselvan, flanked by MLAs loyal to TTV, said that Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had failed them and did not even communicate to them regarding the recent developments.

“Back in February after OPS resigned as the Chief Minister, we had chosen EPS as the leader of the AIADMK legislature party upon the advice of our leader VK Sasikala.

We voted for EPS during the floor test and ensured that he became the CM. But, he has failed us,” Thangatamilsevan said.

Why Isn't Anyone Demanding Edappadi's Resignation, Asks Kamal Haasan

Kamal Haasan

Kamal Haasan appeared to move a step closer to taking the political plunge when the acclaimed actor-director on Tuesday escalated his attack on Tamil Nadu government. The award winning actor-director, who had earlier targetted state minsters, asked why nobody was demanding that Chief Minister EP Palaniswami quit.

"If one state's Chief Minister should resign for a mishap and corruption under his government, how come no party calls for resignation in TN (Tamil Nadu). Enough crimes done," Mr Haasan tweeted in his Independence Day message.

Symbol row forces AIADMK camps to be silent on ‘beef ban’

(L) Former TN CM O Panneerselvam and (R) TN Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy

This has resulted in the AIADMK government till now not coming out with its views on the recently passed central government’s animal slaughter rule. AIADMK(PTA) faction leader and former chief minister O Panneerselvam said that the central government should not impose on the people any law which they were against. But then as he does not run the government, he can obviously speak his mind.

CM Edappadi K Palanisamy has not come out with a statement on the recent central law against slaughter of animals, as it is obvious that he does not want to get on the BJP’s wrong side.
