Keppappilavu people stage protest urging to release the Lands
People in Pilakkudiyiruppu the village which comes under Mullaitheevu Keppappilavu Grama Niladhari Division are staging a demonstration today (05th February) as the 06th day, urging the government to release the lands that are currently being held by Sri Lankan Army.
Lands of approximately 84 families are under Sri Lankan Air Force and the Air Force have built fence it is learnt.
The top authorities on January 31st assured that those lands will be handed over to the public again, but the Lands never released as per yet.
As the sixty ninth Independence Day celebrations were held yesterday, Keppappilavu people staged a demonstration to observe the Independence Day as a black day.
Northern Chief Minister C.V Wigneswaran, Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, Mullaitivu Government Agent rupavati Ketheswaran met Keppappilavu people yesterday and assured them to bring a solution to this matter as soon as possible.
